Can You Survive Yourself
in life sadness is no rare thing, but joy comes at a cost
Papers marked up with red ink, where was the passion lost?
One o eight Missed messages, homework left undone
Body trembles as I stare down the barrel of the gun
How can this be a bad thing when sadness floods me like an ocean?
I’m smiling at the thought of my pain all gone with just one quick motion
The colors already drained from the world, I can’t hear my thoughts over my beating heart
I’m numb inside, to make me happy is to mention my depart
death over life, nothing over pain, mind over matter, nothing stopping me from pulling the trigger
Time goes still, my finger tenses, and lowers, the world in mute, in a dull shade of gray, I pull the trigger
I can’t hear it go off, it’s like I’m not me, but only a figment of myself, watching myself, end myself. Blood everywhere, but for once no pain, vison fades.
*walks off stage*
*room goes dark*
*crowd applause, WHOOOOOOOOOOO*
