My Broken Soul

As a result of having spent her entire life in the rebellion that fights to free the kingdom of Ardainia from the traitorous rule of Queen Analeigh, Jessamine Stevenson has one hard and fast rule: “Don’t get attached to people, since you’ll just lose them anyway.”

This belief had only been reinforced when her girlfriend Marissa, the love of her life, had been captured by Queen Analeigh’s forces after a mission she led to infiltrate a military base went sideways, leaving Jessamine feeling more alone and angrier than ever.

Unknown to Jessamine, Marissa eventually goes on to serve Queen Analeigh, acting not only as her loyal subject, but also her close confidant, seemingly without any reservations. However, when Jessamine and Marissa are finally given the chance to reunite, Jessamine begins to wonder if her loyalties may have been misplaced, and if it might simply be best to choose the path of least resistance, and join with Queen Analeigh herself.

Swept up in a world that’s so unlike the one she’s known all her life, Jessamine struggles not to lose herself, or the woman she loves, but ultimately realizes she may have to give up one in order to have any hope of saving the other.
