POEM STARTER
How could something so small take up so much space in my heart?
Compose a poem inspired by this question.
Pearla Maria
I turned over in bed and there she was.
She’s 12 years old and missing a few teeth.
Making little noises as she breathes.
She’s 8 pounds of white fluff.
**I find white hairs all over of my stuff. **

She snores every night in her sleep.
Every little memory I will forever keep.
The sound of her paws running on hard wood floor are etched into my brain.
She keeps me grounded and sane.
Her eyes turning gray by the day.
All I could do is sit here and say,
How could something so small take up so much space in my heart?
We are linked forever. We will never be apart.
