Cat In The Castle
My human knows not of what he speaks. They’ve always been too stupid anyhow! They can’t even catch their own food, and when I do it for them what do I get? My hunt thrown in the stinky bucket!! So why should I listen to them now? Thrice now they’ve pulled me away from the whirring colorful castle. It is filled with the screams of the tiny humans. I should not desire to enter this accursed chamber of the humans who touch and poke and grab. However it is warm inside, and this plush material it seems to be made out of it soft like my bed. Yet my human keeps pulling me away last second and back into the cold autumn air!!
But like I said, my human is stupid. He is distracted by some other food, no doubt caught by the largest human. Now is my chance to see why I am being denied a potential nap.
The castle is just as warm inside as I hoped. The sun rays made its rigid floor the perfect temperature. I was able to enjoy maybe 30 seconds of glorious sunbathing before the smaller humans started their assault.
They were taking turns jumping and falling into the floor, which rocked me slightly but I was safe in my corner, until one of them felt the need to drag me to the center. I tried to resist, but their pull is surprisingly strong, so I must dig into my napping spot with my claws and…
There is, a breeze coming from the ground? The little one dropped me, and I bounced and scurried until I was able to stay still, my claws digging in again, more air?? Why is there air?
The humans are shrieking in a way that makes me want to scatter, which fails as they are in a frenzy to escape for some reason.
I try to run for an exit but all the walls look the same, and they’re getting closer to me now! The ceiling seems to be sinking as well. Is this creature intending to swallow me whole?! I try to follow the other humans, they are being pulled out by something else before the wall closes in behind them. I am trapped in the belly of the colorful beast.
I yell and shriek as best I can above the hissing chamber. It’s the only thing the humans seem to understand. I bat at the walls with my paws but they get stuck in the strange netting and I struggle to pull them back each time. Just as the ceiling is upon me, I feel something grab around my stomach and pull me away. Then the sun graces my eyes once more, illuminating my human, looking worried.
“Dumbass!”
Ah yes I know that word. It means I did something bad, or silly. I feel them looking me over. I am not hurt stupid human. But I can’t believe you let me enter that death castle. He really should’ve warned me.
He does seem sad though, and his grip is very tight. I snuggle into him, his heartbeat is fast but I feel it slowing down now.
Like I said, he’s a stupid human. But at least he’s mine.
