POEM STARTER
Write a specular poem on heartbreak.
Specular poems are usually two verses long, with the second verse being the first verse repeated backwards to achieve a certain tone. The reversed verse must still make sense.
The Lessons Of Heartbreak
You left me with the bitter education of heartbreak.
You taught me, you can’t always fix the pain with a kiss.
You taught me that love wasn’t just bliss,
And trust is a ship that can easily sail to the abyss.
You taught me that sometimes second chances aren’t worth giving,
And sometimes, love is worth missing.
You taught me what you thought was love, but clearly, you thought wrong.
You taught me how an earthquake feels to the heart,
And you taught me how to fall apart.
You taught me this all too well.
You taught me this all too well.
You taught me how to fall apart.
You taught me how an earthquake feels to the heart.
You taught me what you thought was love, but clearly, you thought wrong.
And sometimes, love is worth missing.
You taught me that sometimes second chances aren’t worth giving.
And trust is a ship that can easily sail to the abyss.
You taught me that love wasn’t just bliss.
You taught me, you can’t always fix the pain with a kiss.
You left me with the bitter education of heartbreak.
