Agent Patrick Callachan
Agent had waited for this moment forever. The moment he could destroy their empire. All that Red and his ratpack bootleggers had achieved. Finally, he'd be able to get back everything that belonged to him. His business, his power and Amelia Hartley as a bonus. They'd destroyed him, left him pieces, but now, now he'd be able to finally get rid of them all. After all there was a desert grave marked with their blood.
He still remembered. The memory haunted him. The Prohibition Era. The day his life had ended. When the cops had raided his bar and everyone had been arrested. It'd started with Red. Always with Red. Agent remembered it so clearly, when Fredrick "Red" Carlin, had walked into his establishment with his filthy, conniving "friend" Silias Langford. They were children then. Harmless children. Or so he thought. So, pitying them he gave them work. Bootlegging. Smuggling illegal alcohol across state lines.
Everything was fine for the first couple of years, work went fine, he was on top of the operation, controlled half the profits in the bootlegging operation and the authorities where none the wiser. His wife and kids where fine, affording luxury, from gold, silver and even obsidian if he was so inclined. He was on top of the world. Red and Silias had become his closest confidants, and he'd brutally trained them to run the business thinking that they'd help further his riches. But unbeknownst to him Red and Silias-who he had risen them fast from their small positions-where planning behind his back. They had seen the ladder the power, wealth, opulence and wanted a taste of it. There first plan was to get him to give up the business to them. He'd live peacefully with his family, and they'd control all of the business. He refused.
So, they'd plotted and planned, gaining the loyalty of his men, tipping of the authorities with the help of a friend he'd never learned of until now. And in the background while they crumbled his business, they built their empire from the ashes and falling pillars of his. And like a fool he had been blind to it all, blind when they had pushed him toward ruin. He'd not known, not until the end. When the cops had raided, arresting and killing his men. He'd managed to escape, managed to get home, already mentally planning how to get the wife and kids out. Luckly he'd have money put asway in a different name.
Agent had got there to a quiet house. That should have been the first clue. But like a fool he'd dismissed the silence as his wife and kids being asleep. Only to walk into his married to find the naked violated and completely naked. Flashes of body parts and blood. All he'd remember was griping the body the tangled parts of his family. Blood soaked everywhere. Then he'd seen it. The police the light. Everywhere was red. He remembered being dragged away from their bodies despite his pleas. He remembered being led out of the house and into a car. He remembered seeing it, in the dark of the night. Thier smiles glistening in the dark. Eyes filled with joy. From that moment he'd swore they'd regret it. He'd make sure of it.
So, Agent spent his years. Decades. Days. Every hour, minute, second. Listening for news. Any news about those two. Plotting how he'd destroy them. Bribing inmates, cops, anyone and everyone. Then he finally got news. They started business themselves. Las Vegas. Sin City. He heard it all. Their power, the women they slept with. Their wealth. They were living his life. All that was theirs belonged to him, they took it from him. All hope came with a woman. Amelia Hartley. The woman who had unknowingly helped free him. The same woman Red was rumored to love. A woman said to be as kind as she was conniving, a wolf in sheep's clothing. She reminded him of Beatrice his wife, his darling. She was the woman Silias was known to protect. Had helped free him. When she had set off those alarms, she'd help him escape. He couldn't have his darling Beatrice. So, he had to her. Once he destroyed Red and Silias, he'd have her. her body. Her mind. Everything.
And they'd be too dead to stop it.
