STORY STARTER

What are the stakes if the assassin fails to kill the prince, including her own safety and reputation?

Consider the consequences of failure and how they will impact her life.

The Silenced Rose {Part #1}

This had to be the worst commission yet...

Not only did she have to assassinate royalty but she also couldn't refuse or slice the throat of the client. Well, she could slice his throat but what if he wasn't bluffing?

Had he really prepared a diary entry with her name this morning?

Nobody knew her real name yet when he stated it there was such power behind his words.

Even if it were a bluff could she seriously risk her life over that possibility?

It wasn't like she could sneak into his home and steal the journal; he was the bloody duke!

It'd be a death trap to even step a hundred mile radius of the castle let alone sneak in.

If she refused his demand she'd be exposed and executed in town's square, no doubt about it.

Even if she made a break the moment the man left she'd still be caught after a day or so.

She'd have to hide for the rest of her life, never step outside of her hiding place yet still change hiding spots daily.

There'd be no escape.

She reluctantly bowed her head and accepted the assignment.

It couldn't be that difficult, right? All she had to do was kill the prince.

Simple task, no worries.

The odds weren't exactly in her favor.

All royalty are highly guarded, the prince was no different.

With the recent disappearance of the king's eldest son as well as the king's illness the current heir was the prince.

He would certainly be guarded greatly right now and she is given six months to exterminate him.

If she didn't it was certain death, if she'd likely still die.

She was so tempted to reject the duke, to insult him, to cause his demise.

Yet she bit her tongue and restrained the urge to kill.

Politely showing the duke out the door of the small bar she owned.

She's told he'd send information in a few days.

Suppose she'd have to wait...
