Emerald Road
"Tell me where she is," demanded the policeman, his sharp interrogating stare glaring at the man sitting at the other side of the table.
The man had his head down and was looking at his shackled hands. He let out a quiet chuckle, and with a grin, looked up at the policeman.
The interrogation spotlight shone upon him. His eyes were bloodshot, his teeth were stained from tobacco. With the psychotic grin still plastered to his face, he stared at the policeman and didn't say a word.
Lowering his voice and trying to keep a steady tone, the policeman got down on the man's level.
With a voice that was almost trembling, he asked the man, "What did you do to her?"
The man shook his head and laughed again. "Something very bad, I'm afraid. But she wasn't anything special. Nobody will even care." A smile creeped onto his face and he wheezed in laughter. "Of course, maybe nobody but you."
At that, the policeman stood out of his chair and grabbed the man's wrist. He was almost nose to nose with the man. "TELL ME WHERE SHE IS!" he exclaimed with a thundering voice.
The man was laughing even harder now, as his eyes were now watering with the joy he was feeling.
All the policeman could do was just stare at him while feeling his hot breath on his face, waiting for him to answer.
Through stifling giggles, the man replied "You'll be able to find her, eventually. She's somewhere in the woods right off of Emerald Road."
The policeman loosened his grip on the man's wrist and sighed in relief, the fear and anger lessening knowing that the location of his daughter can finally be found. He let go of the man's hand and spoke into his walkie talkie,"Send a search team over to the woods next to Emerald Road."
As the policeman started to hurry for the door, he heard the man wheezing with laughter again, this time even harder than before. The policeman stopped in his tracks and slowly turned towards the man.
The man wiped tears from his eyes, and through his haunting laughter, he breathed to say "You'll be able to find her, but I never said it would be easy."
"What... what do you mean?" asked the policeman, getting slowly anxious.
"I buried her somewhere, deep in the ground."
