A Wasteland Covered in Red

Silent and unnoticed the girl crawls around In the dark alley at night, where shadows lie She sneaks and steals and kidnaps and bounds She rules the kingdom that is my mind My mind, where happy people pass, Smiling faces but blank eyes Lavish houses and lawns with vibrant grass Never noticing when one of them dies She snatches them from where they preen going about their merry day She slits their throat, so quick and clean Never stays to watch the blood pour away The demon, the dark lady, the queen, A wraith, a beauty disguised She picks them out, so quiet, unseen No one noticed her rise Her oppression, her hate, her cruelty Her subjects, her creators, all of them dead My mind withers like an unwatered lily She dies ruling the wasteland covered in red
