Distractions

She sat in class, completely distracted, with one earbud in. She was listening to the 80's rock that she NEVER listened to, but she was so utterly and completely distracted that she thought that this would be the best thing to do. She sat there completely oblivious to whatever the teacher was talking about, that even when the bell rang it didn't get her attention until she noticed the people around her were starting to move. So, she got up, grabbed her phone and her water and went to lunch. Lunch interrupted her history class on secondary days, so she left her stuff knowing she would have to come back for the second half of class after lunch. She walked down the hallway with her two other friends from that class, with one earbud still in. She had been listening to the same song all day long on repeat. It was the only thing that she wanted to listen to. Even if you asked her what was making her so distracted, or in this case, who, it wouldn't matter. Her answer never changed. Everyone who knew her, and who knew him, or saw the two of them walking in the hallway, or even the two teachers that would always be standing out in the hallway talking to each other after lunch, knew after seeing them together as much as they were, and saw them walking in the hall together every day after lunch knew that they both liked each other. It was just a matter of whether or not either of them would admit it. She continued down the hall, going to lunch, ate lunch, walked back to class with the same person that she always did, until they had to part ways a couple doors down from her history class. And she came back to class with one earbud in, listening to the same music as usual, but she was more distracted this time. Something had happened at lunch that made everyone else wonder what had happened. But all she could say was "It felt so real, yet so magical".
