One last time
They lived for his smile. It was contagious Smiling and laughing and making people The best they could be Always taking care of others before himself His brother loved to look up at him as a role model His mother adored him from head to toe His teachers never complained His friends cherished him
Then it was gone. He graduated School was done and he had his life to live Summer came and so did the feelings for him He shared feelings for you too, he never said it though. You were going to tell him but you couldn’t. What if he never felt the same?
July 4th comes around. It’s an amazing day Waking up late it’s the peak of summer Until you get a phone call He’s in the hospital He’s going to die What? He’s just graduated Rushing to the hospital all you can think of is his smile The way you always blushed when you saw it All you want is to hear his voice and see his smile that everyone knew One last time
It Consumes
They say it consumes you when You least expect it. I believe them because it happens to me All the time, the way it creeps Behind your eyes and slowly making them water And suddenly you’re crying, why? I cry and I wonder why I am the way that I am Why am I this way? Why can’t I look like the girls from the magazines On Instagram? They have perfect lives All of it, lies You’ll never be like them Face it
