Running through the forest, A girl so sweet. Following her a boy She happened to meet
Climbing the trees, She held a hand The boy grabbed it, Lifting himself off land
They gazed up above. "Isn't this so nice?" The girl looked over, The boy blinked twice.
The tree began shaking The girl looked down Monsters and dark shadows All on the ground
"I'll keep you safe!" The boy moved close. The girl was shaking, Hugs soothed the most.
The beasts began ascending, One latched onto him He kicked it down. The lights growing dim.
Looking into red eyes, She asked with fear, Her eyes with tears, "Will we die here?"
The boy said no. She looked away meekly The boy pulled away To extend his pinky
"I promise you, Rose." She began to lean, Before showing a smile, "I trust you...Jean."
Thinking upon her smile Stuck on that day Her brown, beautiful eyes Now long faded away
Lost in the fog, Alone in the deep Bound by a promise That he couldn't keep
You turn to me, eyes bright. How can I deny that beautiful look in your smile. It's...intoxicating. It gets harder and harder to breathe, and I just can't find my way to say no. What can I do? You hold out your hands, and I'm powerless but to accept them. They don't feel like your hands. You lay me down in a field of flowers. Why are we here?
The sun shines bright, I feel the warmth of your love. The clouds are all spread away, I feel happy. I turn to you. You have the loveliest smile, it's enchanting. The flowers suddenly start to grow too bright, your smile fades. What's going on?
The world suddenly starts to shine so bright. I grab your hands, they still feel strange. You shield your eyes, I take us behind a rock. Pulling you close, I hold you tight while the world shines too bright. You'll be safe with me
"Come on, Marisa! We're almost there!" Yasmin pulled her shy twin sister along, who was already shaking. The two were adventuring into the Arca Forest, trees spiraled high to shade from the light of the sun and moon. Legends have it, if you were to visit the cave and offer up your treasure, you'd get taken to heaven.
Marisa and Yasmin jumped over the roots of the trees, pushing aside the leaves blocking their way, and holding hands the entire way. The two stopped in front of a cave, and Yasmin spoke up first. "So what did you bring, Marie?" Marisa rummaged through her bag, before pulling out a doll, and a motorcycle toy. Yasmin got surprised, "You're really giving those up...?" Marisa nodded, before setting them aside. Yasmin reached into the bag as well, before pulling out a spiked bracelet. "I don't need it anymore, it's okay."
The two tossed the items into the cave, and said simultaneously, "We offer this to you!"
Nothing happened for a while, and Marisa moved to hold onto Yasmin's arm. "...Maybe we did it wrong." Marisa spoke quietly, looking down at the ground. Yasmin shook her head, "We did it right. It'll be okay. It'll come." before smoke begun to pour from the cave. Yasmin stood on guard, while Marisa clung onto her sister.
"TwO aT oNcE! vErY uNuSuAL!" a voice sounded as if it were glitching in and out responded, and it turned to laughter. Marisa, still holding onto Yasmin's arm, spoke up first. "We heard...that you can bring us to heaven. We gave you our possessions....take us." Yasmin looked at her sister, happy about her slight confidence, before turning back to her sister. "Yeah! That stuff meant a lot to us!"
"HmMm...I eNjOy ThEsE. bUt YoU bOtH sHoUlD wAiT uNtIl YoU'rE oLdEr." The voice chuckled, before Yasmin begun to yell. "Why can't we go now?!" The voice offered no explanation, before the smoke cleared. Yasmin felt tears slip down her face, and Marisa wiped them for her. "It's okay. We'll be okay. We'll wait together."
Yasmin sniffled and smiled softly, "Yeah, we'll wait together
Tales of the Kingdom, hidden deep away Down below, travel time's just a day Lured by the call of the siren, Allow yourself to take the ride in.
Once, the paleness of the sky adored, The waves rippling above The farther you dive, into the forlorn The stillness fluttering away like doves
You can't abandon your journey yet You haven't seen your wishes met Whatever you dream, whatever you choose Diving into the water gives you nothing to lose
Being a Storm Wizard isn't...challenging. Nothing bad happens, every test is undoubtedly easy. 'Go fight this boss!' Two hits and it's done. 'Find this rare ingredient!' It's not rare, it's just right in another world. Storm is just...easy. Too easy.
Walking through the streets of Triton Avenue, I glanced at some lower level wizards. A Life and a Balance. "Don't worry! I'll heal you!" The life spoke energetically, and attempted to cast the Heartbeat spell, but it fizzled. A small laugh came from the two of them, before focusing back on the battle. I continued walking along. I missed the days where failure was an actual conceivable thing.
To the Four Storms Mill, I was greeted happily by Blad Raveneye. "Hello, Miss Brynn! What brings you by?" I pushed away my thoughts and replied cheerfully, "Oh, I just need more storm shards. Still working on my new wand." Blad nodded happily and handed a pouchful to me. That errand out the way, I wasn't in the mood for idle chat and walked off.
My legs led me unconsciously to the Kraken's dualing circle, and my hands went up to my hair. Dyed a deep purple, part of it was shaved for the rest of my hair to sweep over. This was probably my last memory of things being difficult for me.
Five years ago, my sister Alia Starflame, was pulling on my hand and crying that some Kraken stole her wand, and pulled me to come handle it because Julia and Amber were busy. I was drawn to the dualing circle and asked Alia what she was doing here. She sniffled and didn't answer me, and I gave a little sigh, before patting her head and telling her I'll get it back. Alia got happy, and I dived under the water to face the Kraken.
Of course, it wasn't interested in talking, and instantly went to fight me. I wasn't too versed in fighting, so there wasn't much to do, but nevertheless, I progressed. The Kraken punched and scratched at me, and I did it right back. A few minutes later, I swam back up, holding Alia's wand, the side of my hair ripped out. Alia hugged me and called me her hero, and I hugged her back.
A fond memory, but the last memory of my struggles. After the fight, life was just so much easier. There wasn't much to do now, just let it pass by with no sorts of difficulties.
But, I suppose, this is just the life of a Storm.
"I never thought I would have to pay for this!" Coral Dove tapped her foot impatiently, sighing and checking her nails. Waiting in line, her pet cat, Mia, rubbed her face up against her legs. "I guess it's okay. Got a cutie like you here." Coral Dove laughed and walked up in the line.
"Heya, Dreamer. What is it this time?" The bartender turned his attention to the blonde hair girl who made a move to sit in the bar. She rested her chin on her hand, twirling her hair on her finger. "I don't know, why is there a rule saying pirates gotta pay for their rum now?!" Coral Dove's orange eyes sparked with intensely, one the Bartender was very used to. "New rule. You all tear up my bar and never pay for any of it, how else do you expect me to get money?"
Coral Dove was about to say something more, until a intimidating looking man sat next to her, slaming his hand on the table. "What's a lass like you want with Rum, huh?" Coral Dove gave a sideways glance at the man. He tapped a knife on the table, "That rule about it being pirates getting free booze? Were you gonna take it to your daddy somewhere?" Coral Dove sighed.
"No, I wanted the alcohol for myself." She rolled her eyes, before holding out her hand. A mug was slid into it, and tossed a golden coin with a wink. The cold glass of Rum disappeared quickly down her throat, and while the man looked at her surprised, Coral Dove laughed. "Don't you worry about me, and don't speak of my father again." before standing up and knocking the glass mug against his head. The bartender looked extra shocked, before Coral Dove tossed another piece of gold his way. "Sorry for what's gonna happen next." Coral Dove laughed, before standing up and getting the attention of Mia, who pittered by her legs.
Coral Dove pulled out a pistol, shot it at a dart board and yelled, "BAR FIGHT!" Quickly the room was thrown into disarray, and the bartender was cursing her name while she walked out laughing.
Quill, the beautiful, pink skinned beauty. The love of my life. The way her lips curved up beautifully in a smile, the way her blue eyes brightened up everyone's day. She was the jewel of the Howling Hearts, and I want her to be mine.
Priscilla, the leader of the Silent Lights, called me to his throne. "Genesis." He spoke to me, smoking calmly from his cigarette. "Yes, my leader?" I kneeled in front of him. Priscilla looked at me for a moment, before laughing loudly. The once calm and powerful aura he excluded was immediately dashed away with that laugh. Priscilla got up and pulled me from my position, so I was back on my feet.
"You heard about that new girl that Crimmy managed to snag?" Priscilla asked, and I tried my best to keep my feelings inside, but nodded. "Listen. What if we took her into our wing?" He flicked some of the ash away of the still burning cigarette. "She'd make a good ninja, I'm pretty sure. Not fair she just didn't get to choose." Priscilla had a bit of sadness at the end, and I nodded along with him. If she had the choice, she could have been here with me.
"So, that's why I want you to recruit her. Bring her here. Show her your style." Priscilla dropped his cigarette, and stepped on it. I nodded again, and Priscilla smirked. "You have your orders. Go!" I slipped on my mask, and raced out of our building. My mind was filled with nothing but thoughts of her. We could recruit her, but that just means bringing her onto our side no matter what.
Just bringing her into my arms no matter what.
Bringing her into my life no matter what.
Just getting her. She'll be here no matter what
"I think I just met the happiest person in the world!" Mina spoke excitedly to the group of girls sitting, Maya playing around with a small plushie. Beatrix was on her phone, lollipop in her mouth. Ryoka, feet on the table, playing a game on her console.
"Did you take in another stray? Mina you can't be doing that-" Beatrix was the first to comment, and Mina quickly shook her head. She looked up at Mina in slight surprise, and Maya also looked up from her plush. Ryoka was too invested in her game to care, until noticing the silence and briefly looking up.
"Guess who's a big fan of ours and was so happy to get to see the Dualie Queen Mina?" Mina bragged a bit, and Beatrix rolled her eyes.
"What, you got Splattershot to love you?"
"Actually yes, I did."
That caught their attention even more. The four girls were apart of a paintball squad, Crowned Ink. While Crowned Ink was pretty impressive, they weren't still famously known by the rest of the world. But Splattershot, they were a famous company, broadcasting all sorts of creative and interesting spins on the normal paintball ways.
"Woah...How did you manage that?" Ryoka asked, setting down her game, and the three leaned in. Mina smiled at finally having their full attention.
"Remember that intro video we did?" Mina brought up, and pulled out her phone. Showing them a video of the four of them showing off their paintball skills in a more flashy manner.
"I'm Mina, the Dualie Queen!" "I'm Beatrix, the Power Empress!" "I'm Maya, the Scary Princess!" "I'm Ryoka, the Sneak Goddess!"
"AND WE ARE CROWNED INK!"
Maya smiled at the memories and asked, "So what did Splattershot tell you?" She picked up the plushie and played with its ears.
"So they said they felt so lucky to get to meet me and that they'd want to meet the rest of the 'Royal Court' tomorrow, so guess what we're doing?" Mina smiled, holding up four VIP passes to the building. The girls each took one, and examined it with growing excitement.
"Heck yeah! We'll end up OWNING Splattershot by the end of this!" Ryoka pumped her fist. Her smile was contagious, and caused the other girls to laugh. They all put their hands in the middle and counted down,
"Three..."
"...two..."
"...one!"
"CROWNED INK, SO ROYALLY SWEET!"
