Overwhelming, frightening, anxious, scared come to mind when taking on something new,

A fear of the unknown is what holds me back instead of closing my eyes and walking straight through,

So many opportunity waisted when something better is sitting on the other side

But we’d rather stay comfortable in our hell, where were happy to settle and hide...

It hit me like a sudden slap across the face,

The whole time it’s been sitting right here before me,

As I lived ignorant, years moved at a study pace,

Never understanding that “aging will happen to me” now I’m forty...
