Too Old, Yet Too New

Too old for this world, yet too new.

A thousand years old or maybe just a few.

Nothing is left to think about,

Stuck on a surface too shallow,

But still drowning through,

an ocean too blue.

I really don’t know,

What I am supposed to do.

What is supposed to grow,

In a barren desert?

How can the air reflow,

In the lungs of a dead?

How can happiness blow,

When nothing more is felt?

I came across a familiar street

I saw the lights not lighting as they once did

It was empty,

Without a hand,

Waving, welcoming, or even greeting

I almost felt,

I was lost,

Didn’t the trees recognise me?

Didn’t the doors?

Feel my hands,

Or the walls hear my feet?

Didn’t the air?

Feel I was there,

As I once breathed,

Isn’t this the place?

Where I once lived,

Who Was She?

There once was a girl playing in a yard,

I met her from a far spot, but my feet couldn’t move toward her,

They took a step forward, and two backward,

I felt I knew her, once I heard her sound,

It was so familiar to me, that sound could never be misheard.

Who was she?

Why did she really look like me?

Is this all real-all what I see?

Or am I just stuck in a reverie?
