The nostalgic beach held a certain charm to the young teenagers heart. The way the waves would crash against the golden sand and the Sun would beat relentlessly upon the shoulders of sunburnt skin. Finishing the last day of their bittersweet holiday among the fishes in bournemouth Bay. For this holiday would be the last for the well put together family, people were growing and the time for childish holidays were coming to an end. That didn’t stop the shrieks of laughter that came from the teenagers on the cusp of adult hood, it didn’t stop the memories of those same booming laughter coming from the mother and father with now salt peppered hair.
Dressed in a long white gown with tumbling tresses of brunet hair, the young teenager wondered aimlessly through the picturesque woods. Nearing the lake she saw a reflective surface before the shore, the closer she got the more she saw the gilded frame of a tall looking glass.
Walking forward, she, Lilith, appreciated how the sun played of her hair and the wind whipped at her gown. Touching the reflection the mirror rippled and the sky grew dark. Before her the reflection shimmered and the porcelain skin changed to fiery red. Her beautiful hair receded into her scalp as horns pierced through her head and flames licked up the reflections legs.
Horrified, Lilith squinted closer at the mirror, looking for an illusion to this this horrific scene, the reflection moved with her.
Beyond terrified, she turned from the mirror and looked at the scene to calm her down. Opening her mouth in a soundless scream as she took in the deadening landscape. Squeezing her eyes shut, she prayed to her god that this was all a dream. Rocking in her heals and squatting to her knees, she rubbed furiously at her eyes and bolted up with a scream as she felt heat licking at her skin.
Opening her eyes, she was in her bed.
