The chances we get to fix our mistakes are slim,

Little moments of choice that dictate the resolution of past missteps.

It seems I am critically flawed in my ability to choose wisely,

I squander even these smallest of moments more often than most.

Every chance I get,

Every gap of time I am offered to make the right choice,

I am often defeated by habit.
