Someday

Someday the Sun won’t shine in our eyes

And we won’t think of the days as too bright

And no one will be hurt by others’ stupid lies

Someday the world will finally feel so right

Someday they’ll be no self loathing

And we won’t make fun of each other

Someday they’ll be no global warming

And we won’t be scared, yell ‘take cover’

But none of us will be around then

So why would we ever care?

Why would we try and make this world better?

We’ll just let it fade away

The lost dream of someday

Someday a little girl will grow up

And see the pretty pink flowers bloom

She’ll be shy and wear ribbons in her hair

Someday a little girl will dream of Someday.
