POEM STARTER

Write a simplified sestina with any theme you think fits in the form.

A sestina has 6 stanzas of 6 lines, and the final word of each stanza should be important, and appear in the next stanza along. Begin with these basic rules, but you can also look up and try all the complex rules of a sestina!

Nostalgia

Everyone is moving slowly.

Everything is askew.

Everyone is moving terribly.

Everything knew.

Everyone is present.

Everything come to be past.

My past plays out in my mind.

Everything runs out of time.

The church song chime.

Everything is nickel to dime.

Everyone is an exuberant mime.

Everything is time’s endless climb.

I climb, endless.

I climb, senseless.

Everyone is a broken record.

Everything not with accord.

Everyone is their own guard.

Everything is under regard.

Subpoena.

Apologia.

Chimera.

Era.

Memorabilia.

Nostalgia.
