There are people shouting and yelling. There is a big percentage of people. There are signs raised high. There is a big majority of banners and posters.
I stand in the midst of it all. I look in the fury and fiery. I remember heritage, race, ethnicity, culture and history.
There is resemblance and remembrance standing so close. There is pestilence and annoyance even closer.
I look at my brown, almond shaped eyes and keep them on the prize. I look at my straight, black hair and my thinking fair. I resemble those before me. I remember those in front of me.
I think of all the epidemics and pandemics. I think of the rolled eyes, looked over cries, crises as old as time.
I think, look, resemble, and remember them and I.
2021
Murmurs and whispers circulate around the workplace. A Black woman goes to her dream job interview and flawlessly answers questions. She is turned down. She is tired of being underestimated.
2022
A march is taking place and she joins, holding her sign high. Holding her flag high. Holding her head high. She is tired of being underestimated.
2023
The Black woman goes back to school and studies harder than ever. The application process was much too long to lose. Glares are thrown her way. She grows tired of being underestimated.
She applies for the same job at the same place. She is not tired anymore, she is ready.
Year before, there was a battle between Santa and his elves. They fought for years and years, never taking breaks. It was the worst fight anyone had ever encountered. The elves were evil, and Santa was angry and raging. Santa had his reindeer on his side and the elves had each other, all one thousand of them. While they were fighting, one reindeer realized how similar the two sides were. It was Rudolph. He called for a meeting. The meeting was long and boring and many glares were planted on others. After a long talk, Santa also realized how similar everyone was. They all worked for Christmas so they decided to work together as a family and a nation.
Everyone is moving slowly. Everything is askew. Everyone is moving terribly. Everything knew. Everyone is present. Everything come to be past.
My past plays out in my mind. Everything runs out of time. The church song chime. Everything is nickel to dime. Everyone is an exuberant mime. Everything is time’s endless climb.
I climb, endless. I climb, senseless. Everyone is a broken record. Everything not with accord. Everyone is their own guard. Everything is under regard.
Subpoena. Apologia. Chimera. Era. Memorabilia. Nostalgia.
1940
A girl sat in her room, hearing air raid sirens going off again. Discrimination against Jews is getting stronger. The girl knows what she has to do. She rushes to her bathroom and dyes her hair blonde, putting on blue eye contacts. She got them from a cheap prank store and is not even sure they will work. If they don’t, it might cost her life.
1941
Music flows out of a back road; a jazz club is hidden in the back. During her break, the singer brushes her blonde hair softly. She blinks and sets her blue eye contacts. No one can know her secret; who she was. The singer goes back out on stage and sings about the war but is careful
not to engage in her past life. Her singing is not the best but she sings her heart out tonight for the money she can get. At the end, everyone stands and claps.
Admits the roaring applause, a silent tear fell, reflecting the untold story she could never tell.
Hiroshima: August 6, 1945
6:13 a.m. Everyone is acting normally. A soon-to-be mother feels her steady heartbeat as she squints at the sun. She gently strokes her stomach. It’s going to be a perfect day.
6:47 a.m. The woman walks along the sidewalk, politely nodding. Feeling a kick in her stomach, she laughs. It’s going to be a perfect day.
7:02 a.m. She walks and prays for tomorrow. What could go wrong? It’s going to be a perfect day.
7:08 a.m. The woman walks back into her home and falls asleep. It’s going to be a perfect day.
What time is it? She wakes to leaflets falling. Opening a window and grabbing one, she looks at a foreign language.
8:15 a.m. A whistling sound cuts through the air and fire erupts before her eyes. There is no definition for a day like this.
Every morning there would be the crashing of waves. The lachrymose sea’s unrest and the coarse sand. The bluff would be terribly high. The city life moving by.
March 11, 2011
An eruption of water arises and expels. The bravado of the cantankerous tsunami intimidates. The colors blend together and the boldness of the navy crashes with the stormy gray-white. My life flashes before me and everything is put in slow-motion. This feeling I cannot construe. The screams of terror and the cruelty of the cries are put in action again. Instead of running for no reason, I sit and wait for harsh and oncoming death. A paroxysm of grief still overwhelms me. When I go to my watery death, I will hear the laughs and shrieks of my neighborhood. I will remember the ups and downs, the ebbs and flows until it all drowns out. Until my life unravels. Until everything will sound like the delicate melody of a distorted piano underwater.
Beyond the maps, where legends dwell, I ventured into the unknown.
The idea I imply is not concrete. The thoughts I have are not complete.
A daydream is not what it seems. A dreamscape is inevitable fate.
Too fake or too real? For your sake, ideal?
When does it begin, where does it stop? In the end, are you a dreamscape prop?
First is the trouble that will seem subtle. Second is the dreamscape scraping your so called honor and faith. Third is a train wreck. Fourth is an imaginary speck. Fifth is the last but the dreamscape will keep a going-in-circles train on the track.
Board the train, come on, come all. Be ready for the call of the oncoming fall.
Be ready to face the bold, for the dreamscape is an uncertain double edged sword.
What is malnourishment?
Malnourishment is the deprivation of essentials and standards for living which makes it harder for the body to function at its best.
What is malnutrition?
Malnutrition is when there is too much or too little of certain nutrients in the body.
Causes: Religion, race, culture, disabilities, mindset, troubled education, etc.
Three Myths On Malnutrition:
What is physical and mental malnourishment?
Many problems surround malnourishment, such as poverty, health, homelessness, etc. This can affect an individual’s social class and status. The consequence is identity crisis and change of mindset.
What about segregational and moral malnourishment?
Segregational malnourishment can begin at a young age, setting unrest. One problem so commonly known amongst young children is gender inequality and discrimination. Among older ages, they will have been driven to the same problems, but harsher. Throughout history, it has been proven with many historic figures. One particular event is Bloody Wednesday. Numerous citizens came to see their leader, Maurice Bishop, speak. Suddenly, gunfire and explosions were set off, resulting in pandemonium. Several Grenadians were killed as well as Maurice Bishop. The malnourishment here is political
corruption. A consequence of it is change of mindset, exemplifying two philosophical problems. (The moral malnourishment,) The trolley problem and the baby problem.
The Trolley Problem:
You are driving a trolley. There are five people on one track and one person on another track. You cannot stop the trolley. Which way do you go?
The Baby Problem:
A gang has broken into your town and you, your baby and the villagers are hiding. You know your baby will cough. If you let the baby live, everybody dies. If you kill the baby, everybody lives.
What is the answer? An amazingly hard question, factually and technically speaking. Although troubling, it might still be a struggle to be good because of the consequences. The solution: you save the greater amount for the greater good.
What about religious malnourishment?
Religious malnourishment is a complex feeling. One common scenario is school. Religious malnourishment can happen in a matter of steps in school.
What about logical malnourishment?
This is a matter of crises that are spreading lack of education and/or common sense. A core part of humanity, logical thinking has rose levels for a better future but logical malnourishment has peaked levels of social problems such as literacy and unemployment. This presents an analytical question.
An Impact On Logical Malnourishment:
Social malnourishment has become a big issue. It wields a double edged sword. The positive is that people can break off from other perspectives and create their own. The negative is that people cannot create a consensus and acknowledge other perspectives. This creates a huge impact on logical malnourishment, breaking down informal and formal groups to help the cause and creating a wider gap between people. (Discrimination, racism, gender inequality, etc.)
However, the question is, “How do we stop malnourishment?”
The answer for malnourishment that involves health is to fulfill your human needs.
To answer the question of segregational malnourishment is to morally answer the question that is asked of you. To reduce logical malnourishment, you can volunteer for programs, fulfill other individuals’ needs or even dedicate your whole life to it. To combat the question of social malnourishment you must create or follow both a philosophical and analytical ethic.
