Darkness, But Also Stars
Can’t sleep
My limbs are weighted down with weary my
Mind sagging on the door jamb between dream and wake
Still my spirit won’t rest with the night
At eleven just beneath my skin she flutters
At midnight she shifts left, right, left again
At one she kicks the night
Hard
Pain bursts into pinpoint sparkling
I surrender to her dark twisting
Letting my spirit feed on constellations
Until dawn
