POEM STARTER
With the night comes darkness, but also stars.
Write a poem inspired by, or containing this line.
Writings
There comes a time Where we all doubt ourselves All lose some of our light ,
Where we feel the darkness Become surrounded by it Suffocated by its evil ,
But that darkness That we are so terrified of We don’t have to be It can be a good thing ,
Because just like the night sky The darkness inside all of us Lights stars in us as well .
It was a terrible time, filled with only cries And sadness all around Yet from the ashes, phoenixes arise A comeback so profound
What is life Without it's ups and its downs? You may face strife But it may lead to your crown
Light amongst dark Good amongst bad The difference may be stark But there is more to be had
Because with the night comes darkness, but also stars It's important to remember when lamenting our scars So take that chance, even if your scared The best of things come to those who have dared And when you wish upon a star Don't let it distract from who you truly are
With the night comes darkness, but also stars That is what they say, at least My stars welcome the darkness with open arms, Allowing themselves to be engulfed The moon however, He has always been there Watching, waiting, protecting Trying to lend some of his shine to my stars Maybe one day his shine will overcome The darkness I’ve allowed to take them
But darling it's too dark We can't go for a spin
we can go to the park that'll be a win
I'll just stay home You go and enjoy the car
then I'll be alone plus, there will be thousands of stars
I'm too tired For any kind of fun
well I'm wired to see the sky after the sun
Well darling I need to get in bed
come on, it's where we got wed
Fine, alright
oh it's going to be great tonight
With the Night comes darkness, but also stars.
Stars that shine brightly way out in the space
But I know stars here on earth
Not those on the walk of fame
Or the famous people who everyone knows there names
These are people who maybe unnamed to you
Yet they made a huge impact on me
The light that shined off of them and touched me
Light so pure it nearly burned me
Yet I sit here begging for more
These friends so vast in space
Always have a place in my heart
Your all stars to me, here and now and forever.
(Writers note) Yessss it is super cheesey lol I’m so sorry for that. But I honestly seen it and I thought of so many of the great people young and old who I have come to know in this community and who have very much helped keep me going when I felt like giving up. You guys know who you are. You have my gratitude forever and may we all enjoy this new year. Hopefully finishing the stories we are working on. I love y’all, happy new year.
If the night is misogyny, then the dark is misogynistic people, and the stars are those that fight against it without endangering anyone in particular.
Hi guys. This has some kind of themes in it, so here’s your warning. It talks about how women have to be more cautious than men when walking alone, and you guys know what that means. This is, again, inspired by someone I know. The same one who essentially “forced” me to write Only A Woman. You have been warned!

I’ll never wear lipstick just to get cat-called by boys,
never wear short skirts and walk home alone.
I’ll never show my shoulders, they’re distractions; decoys.
Too bad for me, boys distracted by too much skin shown.
Grow up, you boys, and let us wear makeup,
without earning nicknames like “cake-face.”
Grow up, you boys, close that mouth shut,
let us wear what we want, without having to guard our waists.
We’re not stupid if we like to dress up.
“What about men? How do women have it harder?”
I don’t win games because of good luck,
see, let me state a point before your misogyny’s departure.
It’s nighttime and you walk home alone,
see a stranger behind you, make sure to grab your keys.
Otherwise, what will happen, is they’ll trail you like a drone,
they’ll even steal you without even a ‘please.’
This happens to men too, I’m afraid,
but it’s not worse than what happens to women.
They find women weak, so they take out the blade,
then they taunt you for being too fat or too thin.
You’re either too weak or too strong,
too muscular or stringy,
too short and stubby or tall and long,
too distant or too clingy.
You’re either not pretty enough,
or the opposite of hot,
or you’re not cute, but rough.
You’re a toy to be bought.
You have certain hobbies,
you’re a tomboy or girly girl.
Have a certain shape of your body,
it makes them want to hurl.
You can’t speak your mind
without a friend turning on you.
More haters tend to target those so kind,
while the truly evil have only a few.
You’re either childish or too mature,
way too old or way too young.
Way too tempting, used as a lure,
or way too strict and high-strung.
Men have it hard too, most think of them as robots,
but I state a point that women have some aspects harder.
It’s easy to claim your side has the worst of the story’s plots,
but it’s a relentless task to understand the side farther.
I’ll never wear lipstick, just to get cat-called.
I’ll never wear a short skirt or show too much skin,
and I have no intention of “playing the victim” and getting mauled,
because I’m the one who brought me to this situation I’m in.
I’ll never wear lipstick, but it’s not because I don’t want to.
It’s a shame the reason why I won’t do so,
but “boys are boys” so what can we do?
They’re always boys, even old, they’ll never grow.
Their imagination runnin wild Their Heart beats like a drum Thinkin answers no one else could Thinking bout’ adventure Something extraordinary and new Dreamin wishin thinkin of something someone beautiful Rainbows and animals flowers of glory but cries of the needy and helpless End never comes Peace never comes Always suffering Its a believers monster Funny how their happy when they fight war in their brains Reading of kings and queens their splendid escapades but their deaths and crimes one in the same Funny how they laugh when they feel so trapped See the world behind their eyes and youll never go back Funny how they smile with tears in their eyes Dreaming of love at first sight kissing at midnight while seeing heartache ‘n pain ‘n sorrow Funny how they love when they feel suffocated by their own lungs Playing out a story of success and achievement feelin the failure and disappointment instead Funny how they seem ok when they are stuck in their heads nothing to call it but one Its a belivers monster
With the night comes darkness, but also stars Their light protects and distracts you from the scars The never ending pools of sorrow and tests Are covered up by the bright, distracting rests
A break from the terrible eyesore To watch brilliant things soar But hidden beneath the sparkling light The darkness struggles in the night
Unseen because it’s so bland Like the boring tan sand Always overlooked because the life sea No one hears it silent plea
If you look deep, beyond what’s proposed Fighting between the high and lows What a sight beholds The darknesses dreary molds
Every person looks in fear The darkened night is almost here The setting sun fades from the sky Everyone now runs to hide
The shadows stretch their sharpened claws Their jaws open in one great yawn The dead of night is now awake Endless fear is now our fate
But then a light lands on the ground Maybe hope can still be found People look up to the sky The stars are there, way up high
The darkness fades into the night Fading with this hopeful light The shadowed night will make us scared But stars are hope -- they're always there
