COMPETITION PROMPT
Write a poem which starts with the description of a sunrise, and ends with a sunset.
The Face I Put Away
I have this face that I put away
When sunlight calls the break of day
When blacks become gold and cloudy blue
I hide the person the nighttime knew
Dawn is an artist so inspired
Who, when the old face I've retired
Masks my vissage in subtly
With colors the public is happy to see
I spend the day as a pantomime
Reciting someone else’s rhyme
My friends speak fondly of the eyes
Of a person I do not recognize
But in the evening when the sun
Has done its work and had its fun
It makes way for streaks of pink and red
And scarlet shadows overhead
It is then I take the face
Out from its daily hiding place
And fit it snug around my ears
Til stars and safety reappear
