Swords Of Passion

I wrapped my thick curl around my finger twirling it repeatedly in concentration. I looked at the sun dial trying to figure out if it was time yet. The sun was going down and he was no where to be seen. I wrung my hands in frustration as I waited impatiently.

All of a sudden, a warm hand brushed against my neck and I jumped. “Did I scare you?” He said with a smirk. “Sorry I got a little tied up, prince things.” He ran a hand through his silver locks of hair. He was a young man but he had been blessed with the touch by the gods. This ability made him almost indestructible but it also gave him a very distinct shade of silver hair which made it easy for him to be spotted. With hesitation I pressed my lips against his devouring him with my tongue.

He groaned with pleasure as I wrapped a leg around him. He pulled me closer into him, holding me tightly. He pulled away, catching his breath. “I’ve missed you all day.” I said while staring into his deep brown eyes. He grinned at my statement, “I could tell. You’re amazing Miara.” Before I could respond my lady in waiting banged on the door ferociously. “Princess Miara, your father asks of you.” She said urgently. I groaned and stepped away from Kori, he got my signal and headed towards the window ledge, he then blew me kiss and jumped off the ledge and onto a nearby tree. My heart ached in want as he disappeared into the night. In frustration I adjusted my garments and opened the door. “Your father needs you, it’s serious.” She said quickly. I ran down the stairs and into the throne room.

My father sat on the throne with the same cold look he always had. “Miara, why have you been in your room all day?” He said staring at me for an answer. “your highness, I was studying the tablets, you know it takes work to be top of the class like I am.” He grunted in approval. “keep up the good work, it should come in useful when you’re queen some day.” He leaned back in his chair and took a sip of his wine. “Tomorrow is a council of kingdoms meeting and I want you to attend of my behalf, the other heirs of the other kingdoms will be there including the dreadful Kori heir of the Cowan kingdom.” He had a bitter tone to his words. It was common knowledge that the Petro and Cowan kingdoms were sworn enemies since before their founding.

The story is that there were two friends who loved each other very much but there was a girl that they both loved more than their friendship and they fought hard for her until she died accidentally at the hand of one of the boys, no one knows who exactly but they became sworn enemies after that and formed two separate kingdoms that kept that rivalry for generations to come.

Anyway, I believe what’s past is past but no one else does except Kori that is. He’s the only reasonable person I know. He’s kind, intelligent and trustworthy and I love him dearly. My father dismissed and I went back to my room. I locked my door, put out the candles and I waited. Shortly after, a figure appeared on the ledge of my window. Like clockwork every night, Kori appeared in my room. He had good night vision which was a bonus.

He made his way through the dark, to the bed where I lay waiting for him. He ran a gentle hand through my hair and kissed my neck. We kissed for a while then eventually he lay down next to me. He wrapped his string arms around me. “I get to see you in public tomorrow, it’s the council of kingdoms and I’m representing my kingdom.” I said softly. “There’s no one better, you deserve it.” He whispered in my ear. With that I closed my eyes and drifted off the sleep. When I woke up he was gone as usual. I hoped that eventually our relationship could be public
