POEM STARTER

Submitted by 'a.'

It’s been five years since you have seen the moon, five years of never ending sun...

Where Are You, Moon?

Oh, to bathe in a beautiful glow,

One that is not the blinding sun,

The moon I wish to once again know,

But it seems its time with me is done.

I can’t recall when I’ve last seen the rock,

Grinning down from the dark, galactic heights,

For, instead, the sun chose me to stalk,

It looks like a blessing at first sights.

The time of light endlessly ticks on by,

Like an hourglass with unending sand,

Five years of this light made my soul so dry,

Meshing with the parchedness of the land.

I can’t imagine how lucky the stars feel,

As they seem well acquainted with the moon,

Being with it constantly seems so surreal,

Yet here I am now, trapped in a blazing tomb.

Oh, to bathe in a beautiful glow,

One that is not the blinding sun,

One time it was as dark as a crow,

But it seems night’s time with me is done.
