STORY STARTER

One evening a goose arrives on your porch. He tells you his name is Frank and he must come in.

Who is Frank and what happens next?

The Duck And Goose Army

“Come on in…, Frank.” I say hesitantly. Why is this random goose here?

“Thank you for your hospitality, especially since I’ve come in uninvited.” Frank thanks me. I nod my head with a smile, but can’t process what is happening to talk.

“So, why are you here?” I ask once we’ve been seated at a table.

“Have you heard of the duck army?” The second Frank asks me my eyebrows shoot up.

“I-I have. My friend Kenlea (Ken-Lee) loves ducks. She has a best friend duck named Joey, who helps lead the duck army.” It’s his turn to be suprised at how much I know.

“You seem to have much knowledge on this.” Frank tells me.

“Thanks, but what do you have to do with the duck army?” I try to get to the point, no reason to waste time.

“Of course. You see, ducks and us geese are like cousins. We never mind when the other is around. Until one day, when something catastrophic happened. The geese asked to join the duck army, but they voted no. The ducks that said no say we are geese, therefore being unqualified to join their duck army.”

“Oh. What does this have to do with me?” I still wonder why Frank came here.

“Right, I’m getting to that. As Joey watched the geese leave angrily, he had a feeling this would corrupt into a horrendous war. He told Kenlea his thoughts, and she agreed.”

“Are they recruiting me to fight? They really want to fight?” I’m stunned Joey and Kenlea would do this, though they are with the duck army.

“No, of course not,” Frank relieves me,” They just want to negotiate and reason with us geese. So they sent me, Frank, to fetch you.”

“You’re going to bring me to the geese?” I ask hesitantly.

“Yes, in fact, we should be on our way now.” Frank pushes his chair back and stands. I lead him out the door.

We walk-well, he waddles and I walk-to the homes of the geese. There were many nests next to the water. A mother with five goslings were swimming in a beautiful line.

“Who is this?” Asks a strong looking goose.

“General, this is…Sorry, I never really caught your name.” He says, with a slight tremble when speaking to the general.

“It’s Adaliene. Addie for short.” I tell him.

“Well, Addie here wants to negotiate and stop a war.” Frank tells the general.

“War? What war? There shall be no war for no reason.” He states. I’m shocked.

“What? But they turned you down.” I say, though it’s probably not smart.

“Yes, but why would we start a war. We must count our losses and move on.” The general says.

“Oh, well, sorry…” I apologize. He tells me it’s alright and sends me on my way.

Just as I’m about to leave I see Joey come up. Him and the general have a long conversation. To sum it up, the duck army is offering to train some of the geese, and the general agrees.

“This has been a weird day,” I say to Frank.
