Rain exploded across the riverside

Pounding against his back

Wind slamming into him as he knealed

What could a storm do, that life already hadn’t

It had taken him from a naieve kid

Love able and overly nice

It had beat him into submission

No he just was

Many people he’d loved were long gone

Time had been cruel in its deals

Not that he’d complained, he’d taken it all on the chin

Never letting life know he’d been hurt

Yet now the scars had started bleed more

Soaking his soul in blood, making it harder to be ok

What was ok

Contentment, Success, Money, Love

What was the lesson

Why had life hit so hard

Stumbling at the waters edge

Clothes soaked

“Why me?” He grumbled.

Of course thunder roared

Lightning flashed

Enveloping the skies in blue

Of course there wasn’t an answer

Thunder just crashed again and again

Yet he didn’t faulter

It was quite while the earth screamed

He’d never felt so at one with it

All the energy swirling

Life beaming from the space beyond

His problems and pain so small

Fire burned within the earth as it fed his soul

Replenishing his will

Because where there’s a will, there’s always a way
