Some Light
Wander into the dark a bit more
Harken to your dead shade
Each step a mote more profound
Reaving soul from marrow’s hold
Every eye watching but yours
Vanity pushing your cold spine
Easing you, gently to erasure
Rending you null and void
Tranquility can be hellish
Hell can be a soft place
Errant paths be by goodness paved
Right and wrong corrode in streams
Eviscerated by we men and means
Ingest the world and move along
Stay the course, you child, you corpse
Like shadow’s cast onto pitch
Insipid, we flow to death
Gasping at the door for breath
Holding our applause, appealing
Truth that we left at the fork
Trembling thereafter and dire
Human is a false attire
Even as we wither, we know
Further now, a few more steps
Let the dark into your eyes
Only then can you see or seek
What phantoms await man
Entombed in our deceptive minds
Ridding us of jagged truth
Seek and ye shall find, wretch
We live and die
Inside of curs’d shells
Laughing at our fated form
Lauding this damned death
Follow the horde awhile longer
In time you’ll find the pit
Never to return to the precipice
Down and down, you’ll go
It’d be a shame if you’d turn back now
Today was the day of your arrival
