The wind blows my hair.

I’m standing on the edge again.

I’m sick of looking for the cure.

I sway the way the world does.

I wonder if the ants will catch me.

I wonder if God will.

I wonder who would notice me.

I hope no one does.

I hope everyone does.

I hope God does.

I gather what courage I have.

I wipe away the tears.

I ask Him for help.

And I step down and go back to work....

The world stood still and silent, though time rushed forward and away. A few more lines and it’d all be over, a few more moments until the Sleepers wake from a soft dream to a sharp life.
