POEM STARTER

"“What did you do?”

Write a poem that incorporates this question three times.

Choose any theme you’d like, as long as you use repetition to create an interesting effect.

Remember

What did you do when I dropped the soup?

Don’t you remember? You helped me clean?

Red, sticky, tomato soup - floor covered.

It was in my hair, in my shoes too.

What did you do when I crashed the car?

Don’t you remember? You got me out?

Red, sticky, bloody hands. You pulled me out.

Pulled me out the burning car yourself.

What did you do when I saw you last?

You forgot, didn’t you? All of it?

My name, my face, all of the memories.

What did I do when I saw you last?

I helped you, for the first time, afraid.

I helped you remember it all

Have you forgotten it so quickly?
