STORY STARTER
Submitted by Alana Topakian
All she ever wanted was that side-splitting, life-changing, end-of-the-world type of love. Yet, as she sat alone on her bathroom floor, she realised her world was ending, just not in the way she’d hoped.
It’s A Love/Hate Relationship
I love the way you smile, joyous and bright
You hate the way I laugh, it causes you pain
I love the way you talk endlessly about nothing
You hate the way I dream about pointless things
I love the way you lie, it’s as if this is a game
You hate the way I still wait for you, even when the sun has set
I love the way you pretend to care about me
You hate the way I always forgive you
I love the way you forgot about me
You hate the way I accepted it
I love the way how the scars glisten in the sunlight
You hate the way I stare at the mounds of bright red, entrapped in their glow
I love the way how they line my arms like beautiful vines
You hate the way I look at them, like they are my only source of comfort
I love the way I’m all alone now
You hate what I’ve become
I love you
You hate me
