POEM STARTER

‘If desires are a flame, then I am a wildfire.’
Use this line to inspire a poem or short story.
shame
shame
shame isn’t the list we gather but the list of names we give ourselves with desire
and it’s somewhat passion to ourselves but only in the saddest way we are too familiar with
the mind of a note killer with only inspection in our selves
gathering desires and holding them close to our chest and breathing in with a sharp word we linger ourselves with
‘you deserve the pain you put people through.’
and even the dead flowers aren’t hearing our cries when the moon is shaking and shimmering down towards our own burning skin the sun has created in us and on us
our own blood leaking through and through our brain in a despairing manner
we could go on about how much we hate ourselves in a shameful manner, always
‘what is more powerful than shame?’
a walking head with only a piece of broken thread that strings our thoughts to our physical shame and in return we grow in our reality and suffer through the consequences of this world that we’ve created
we have a choice
and maybe sometimes we don’t
brag about our shame and listen to others validate us in a pity manner
it’s what we crave
in fact any amount of attention could break the human beings we are created to be
and i find it shamefully powerful that we’ve given a chance to feel these emotions and let it affect our lives
but only the good die young
and the ones who are living and breathing and pinching our own skin just to feel more awake in a world we were never really given a chance to decide who we become in this moment on earth; are the ones that were meant for this pain and suffering
and in a shameful way i find it powerful even though we are powerless
we become what we create and that is more powerful when you read that twice.
