He asked me if I trust him and as I looked to him in the pouring rain, our backs against the brick wall the sound of thunder in the distance. My hair sticking to my face, I said “no.”

I didn’t trust him. I never had, he got us in this mess and it’s his fault I’m standing here not knowing whether I’m going to survive the next ten minutes.

“No, I don’t trust you.”

He just looked at me blankly for a long moment before his face contorted into a sinister smile.

“And you’d be right not to!”
