Singing was all I knew

The only thing I held onto

It kept us alive under the impression of freedom

The thing about being free,

Is that sooner or later, you will face a cage of your own.

The thing about being caged,

Is that the long-awaited taste of freedom tastes sweeter.

Maybe the better question to ask

Is how different the free and the caged really are.
