An onomatopoeia is a word that mimics the sound of something such as bark, boom, or screech. These sounds can tell a story if used effectively!

The Fatal Story

C r a c k. The sound of a neck snapped as punishment for this failed encore C l i c k. The sound of the gun that Saturday night that took your father’s life T h u n k. The sound of your head as you are knocked unconscious S p l a t. The sound of your sister as she lands on the cold paved ground T i c k. T i c k. T i c k. The sound of the bomb in your best friend’s luggage right before the whole plane goes- k a-b o o m.
