Reads really well aloud, slowed down to a conversational pace. Well done. “They’re still shining when there’s nothing left…” is a good line, connecting the metaphorical light in the darkness to the real-world physics of starlight being ancient by the time the seer sees it—how what is happening at the time is irrelevant to photons cast through space millennia ago.
I also like using “bare” instead of “bear” as a pun, trying it to vulnerability. Nice work.
