As i walk into the bathroom, tired and sore, i look into the mirror. Suddenly, a portal manifests in front of me. What do i do? Do i go inside or disregard this as some hallucination from sleep deprivation? After a few seconds, i decide that my life probably couldn’t get worse, so i step inside.

For a moment, all i see is black. I cant register whats happening in front of my face. Then i see it. I’m back in Brooklyn. I watch as hundreds of people flood the streets and sidewalks, and then i see Grayson.

You see, three years ago was when my life spiraled into total chaos. And it all started when my boyfriend Grayson died in a hit n run. After he passed, i got evicted from our house because i couldnt keep up with the pay, and i subsequently got laid off, ever since, i’ve been living with my parents and working odd jobs to get by.

Now, as i stand in the middle New York City, i realize ive been given the chance to save my beloved Grayson. Maybe my life wont be so bad, after all.

I run up to Grayson and grab his shoulders, my voice shaky and nervous. “You have to got off the street! Now!” I say. As i stare at him, he seems dumbfounded and completely caught off guard. After a moment he answers. “Chrisanna, what are you doing here? Why do i need to get off the street? What’s going on?”

I lightly shake his shoulders, frustrated that he won’t just listen. “Come on! Lets just go!” And before he can answer, i hear a loud pop, and suddenly, there’s a sharp pain in the back of my head…..and everything goes dark.
