POEM STARTER
Poison.
Write a descriptive poem about something poisonous, and its effect on its target. This could be literal or metaphorical.
Poisonous Heart
From the moment I saw you
That car is an ocean-blue
I knew the answer
But I could never ask
Breaking through holes
Lying to those fools
I forgot who I was
And why I was following you
I now realize
All those lies
Build up to a great thing
Something unbreakable
I wish you hadn't fought me
Now I can finally see
I run, I hide
But you keep catching up
You know the rules
You see all those tools
Pawns on your board
But I was different
I was the other team
Fight your sweet cream
Finding the poison inside
Guarding my secrets
The poison you hold
It was exactly what I had been told
You sink your fangs
But you forget
I have poison too…
