An army of ten thousand different creatures stood behind her. Dragons, gnomes, unicorns, and many different beasts. You may be wondering why she was leading an army of monsters and magic. She was trying to save the world of Spirana, from a beast much larger than a dragon. Her name was Ashley, she was dragging a sword that radiated fire. A boy with liquid hair was beside her with a determined look.
“Ashley hit right. NO YOUR OTHER RIGHT!” a coach behind her shouted at her. Aquarius fake stabbed her through the chest. “Got you,” he laughed a little. “I can’t tell my lefts from my rights,” they both burst into laughter. Then they heard a scrapping sound. A girl with brown hair that covered her almost pure black skin, walked in with a glowing red sword. “Ashley,” she said quietly. “What’s up Anna?” “You have been chosen… too fight the gianticoda,” she said even quieter.
Now on the meadow of despair, they headed towards the forest of fears, where the gianticoda lived. Anna was right behind them, now bearing cat features and a more serious face.
“Anna you can’t!” Ashley was about to cry. “I have too become the prophet, then I can protect you and all your descendants.” She grabbed her arms and hugged her. “I love you,” Anna said quietly. “I love you too,” she could see Aquarius flinching a bit when she said that.
Once they reached the forest of despair she told everyone to stay here. She went in alone. At first she couldn’t see it but soon she was being strangled by the creature. She cut through the body with her sword. The creature screamed in anger and its head shot like a bullet towards her. It didn’t hit her. Standing in its way was Aquarius. She sliced the snakes head off and ran to him in tears. “If I die I want you to know something,” he choked out. “I love you.” “I do too.” She kissed him.
Her eyes fluttered open. She was in a dark room, filled with boxes. She was tied up and gagged, in a corner of the room. Unfortunately for her kidnapper, she is highly trained, in control, and unafraid. She grabbed a knife from her pocket and turned it over. She began sawing the rope. After she was done she ripped the gag off. Her gold and black hair draped over her shoulders, and her green eyes examined the room. The person who had kidnapped her had left 2 hours ago to get McDonald's. So they thought they could stop her. Not a chance. She slid her knife back into her pocket and kicked down the door. She ran down the empty hallways and emerged into Central Park, New York City. She saw a woman heading for the door. She jumped into a bush and watched the girl. She had blonde hair and freckles that looked like mud splatters on her face and arms. The strangest thing was that she was wearing a… cheetah costume. The cheetah girl walked into the hallway, and she followed. She pulled out her knife and got ready to pounce. Just before she jumped to hit the strange girl, she turned around and jumped at her with mechanical claws. As the weapons clashed a shock went through her. She tried to sneak a hit in but the cheetah girl dodged. If you can’t stab them with your knife, stab them with your words. “What are you? A kitty?” “Actually, I have a name. It's Reedah.” “Nice to meet you Reedah the cheetah, I’m Legend. In case you haven’t heard about me, I’m the leader of Death.” “Wow so you’re like the lady of death,” Reedah said. “Not real death. The secret organization Death. Just so you know, it was a mistake kidnapping me.” “Why, I think I’ve done a pretty good job?” “Because of this,” Legend stabbed at the woman's stomach. “HEY!” Reedah roared. She swiftly stabbed her in the chest. “What the he…” Reedah collapsed. Legend put her hand on Reedahs chest. She couldn’t feel a heartbeat or the rise of her chest. Reedah was dead. “That's what you get for messing with me,” Legend laughed. Two girls walked in. They both had purple hair with green eyes, which were looking up at Legend. “It is done,” Fortune said. “The base has been defeated,” Recieve said quietly. “Good,” Legend said. Death would become a Legend. Just like her. Watch out heroes, Legends coming for you. She smirked wickedly.
You can pretend that your normal. You can pretend you are not insane. You can pretend that you are the hero. You can never be any of these things though. Normal can’t be defined, insane is your virtue, and heroes are stupid fantasies. I’m sorry but it's true. You can’t deny it. What you can deny is that you're not rooting for anyone. Don’t root for anyone, cause the roots will become you. Just like ME.
It was a normal school day. Or mostly normal. It felt as though I was having a bad hair day, everyone looked away. It was the football game today and I was rooting for my friend, Henry. Then I looked in the mirror. My hair was moss. Weird. Then I realized that it was my other friend's art contest day. I was rooting for her. Tree roots covered me. “What the “ A girl walked into the bathroom. She screamed. It was my best friend. I couldn’t move. The roots held me to the floor.
I was stuck there forever, I grew taller every day, and my age was unknown. No one knew me. They just hid and said, “What if that's me?” People called me ME. Teachers said I was a warning to never lie. Don’t know where that came from. As the years passed, I became a horror story and people stopped going to the school. If anyone explored and saw me, my roots would suck the life out of them. Human blood is tasty.
They started running the school again, and I killed all of the female students. They made it a male school. I killed all of the male students. They made it an adult school. I killed everyone. The school kept trying to run. It was burned one day and I went down with it.

Sometimes we see the world differently than others. I mean way differently. Some see cars while others see dragons. Some see trees while others see little girls with green tears. Some see a creepy forest filled with animals while others see a creepy forest filled with monsters. That's where I come in. You see some of us are… special, and our moms or dads are royal entities. I’m one of them, nice to meet you, reader, my name is Princess.
My brown hair was draped over my face. Blood creeped through my dress and pain around my hip made it hard to walk. Before me stood a fearsome forest. I decided that a unicorn would be too smart to go in there, so I went in. I immediately got captured. A woman with green bone-like skin stood over her. Long black hair covered the backside of her white dress. “What are you?” That was a really smart thing to say. “I’m your worst nightmare,” she growled. “So you’re a unicorn?” “NO, I’m the guardian of the dead,” she roared. “Ok so you’re Hades,” I think I was being annoying. “No that's a whole different universe, I’m Knolon.” The K was not silent. People have weird names. She smacked me. The world went black.
Guess what, I’m still alive. I survived getting smacked by Miss Lady of the Dead. She took my hand and pulled me up. “You’re not dead- that means… oh my queens.” “So where we going?” “To find your mother,” she got up and started walking. She was a fast walker. Between pants I said “Is my mom Aphrodite?” “You’re really annoying aren’t you,” she growled. “Yes thats me,” I finnally caught up with her. “So who is my mom?” “Her names Conenyo, Queen of Beauty and Love.” “So like Aphrodite but a queen?” “I suppose.” I noticed on Knolon’s side it was dark and scary. On mine it was beautiful and sunny. Weird.
We got to the palace and I yelled “HELLO.” Wow someone responded. “HELLO?” Then I ran to the palace. Knolon stayed though. I came back. “Come on Knolon,” I told her. “I can’t,” she looked back at the trees “I have to go.” A tear of gold rolled down my face. “I’m going with you,” I said stiffly. “You can’t… you aren’t my daughter.” Then a sword radiating darkness appeared in my hand. “Yes you are,” I slashed the sword at a tree and it instintly died. Another appeared in my hand. It was beautiful but rather dull and not good for fighting. “I get to choose, and I choose you,” I run into her arms and hug her. She just widens her eyes and hugs me back.
Remember, in the world between anything can happen. You never know. See you in the world between.
I look around the dusty old room. I was in a pretty pink room till I fell asleep. Weird. I picked up a plush dinosaur that looked like it was used as a monsters chew toy. I shivered. I paced across the room, watching every corner of the room in case there was something waiting to jump scare me. I was kidding myself. Monsters aren’t real. I shivered every five seconds, waiting for a human to find me. Then I realized there was no door. What the heck? I lay on a couch, slowly drifting to sleep.
I wake up with a doll in my face. It looked exactly like her. Wierd. It’s head followed me around. Weird. I touched it. Big mistake. It bit me. I jumped back tears springing from my eyes. It jumped on me and pulled out a tiny knife. It sliced my fingers off one by one. Then came toes. Then came hands and feet. Arms and legs. Finally my head. I was screaming the whole time.
And that’s how the Scarlett Letter died. Wierd right. Don’t trust pretty pink rooms. Beware of yourself. Your coming to get you. Good luck.
They say to live in the present, let go of the past, and brace yourself for the future. Sometimes I wonder if its true or not. I try to not spend all night laughing or crying about things that have already happened, but its not that easy. Memories are like skin, you can’t live without them. Maybe sometimes you have to live in the past, or even the future. That just sounds wrong. I trudge through the thick snow. I feel cold inside. The wierd thing is, I don’t feel cold on the outside. Weird. I keep trudging until I notice my shoes are flaming a bit. I shed a tear. Deep pain goes through my veins, making every nerve go off until my brain gets the message. I’m on fire.
None of that was real. It was all a dream. My sister shoved me outside because I was being annoying. The snow was cold like it was supposed to be. Phew. Then I see this boy. He’s stumbling across the thick, bone-chilling snow. I run over to him. Big mistake. He screams like I’m some kind of monster, and pulls out this sharp long knife. I put my hands up. “Um I’m not a psycho killer,” I say laughing a bit. Not that I could be. Then I remember something- my old boyfriend. He used to be very protective to me. I could almost see his green eyes glowing in the boys skull. Wierd.
None of that was real. Wierd. I walk outside. I bump into the boy. He smiles as though he knows me. He pulls me to this lake. Then I notice I’m not cold in his presence. Weird. He pulls me into the lake, not frozen anymore. Also when did I grow gills, I could breath. Weird. We kissed. Weird.
None of that was real. I don’t go outside. Big mistake. They found me. Weird. Weird. Weird. Dead.
My blade hit the tip of her spear and I twisted knocking it out of her hands. “HEY THATS CHEATING MYSTIC,” Spira yelled in frustration. “Ha! You’re not even trying!” “Really, try me!” She retrieved her spear and jabbed it at my arm. “OW!” “Told ya!” “Not fair you have a spear!” I slipped under her easily because of my size and stabbed at her legs. “What the-“ I jabbed at her back. “OW! What was that for?!” “For Jake!” Just then Jake walked in. “Hey Mystic,” he had such a kind voice. He made me feel like I was living a teenage dream. “Hey Jake,” I sounded so wierd. “Wanna go out for-“ “Yes!” “Ok I’ll just… stay here,” Spira sounded disappointed like she always did. We skateboarded towards the sky diner. “So what do you want?” “Um… I didn’t think about that…” we both bursted into laughter.
A few days later I found out the queen had died. There was going to be a competition for who will become the next queen. Jake had persuaded me to enter the challlenge. The contestants were Shocker, Melody, River, Fiery, Flora, Metalica, and… Spira. If you don’t know by now me and Spira are best friends. The first challenge was strength. Me, Fiery, Shocker, and Spira passed the challenge. Next was patience. Me and Spira passed. Last was mind. I won, I became queen of imagination. But I also lost a friend.
The next day Jake congratulated me, but he looked different. Almost a little evil… no I was just confused. Then he did the absolute crazy-I’m-dreaming thing. “Mystic, will you marry me?” I practically lost consciousness. “Yes!” That was probably the worst mistake I had ever made.
The memory was really blurry but I remember being in the throne room and Jake pulled out a blade and said sorry, not sorry, then he lunged towards me. Luckily Spira came at the right time and knocked the sword out of his hands. I broke up with him and he built the evil kingdom or whatever he calls it. He renamed himself King Shadow, which is kind of weird since he's king of shadows. I never fell in love ever again after that. Spira became my personal bodyguard and we became best friends again.
One day I saw Mary and I just knew she was special so i went to the mortal world, made up a backstory, and changed my name to Scarlett. Now Jake has asked for a rematch after two thousand years of peace. I’m not giving up this time- I have freinds now. One of them may be evil or a grand hero. I mean anything could happen. Right?

I didn’t know how important everything was or I’d not have done it. I didn’t know my very existence in this world was dangerous. If I had never done this they would have never destroyed everything. If you’re reading this do not ask any questions or they will get you. Now let’s start at the beginning, shall we…
It was gym when strange things started happening- though strange things are normal to me. We were sitting down as Ashley my second best friend looked… weird- a look I can’t describe, that I see a lot. She shook her head and smiled. It wasn’t a real smile, I can tell. “What’s wrong,” I tried to sound concerned but really I was just curious. “ Yeah, yes, yes, definitely,” she said unconsciously. The D-word I should have known. “No you’re not,” I said definitely not suspiciously- ok I know it was suspicious. “I had a… what do you call it… vision.” This is the part were everyone should go ‘ OH GOD’ right. I mean everyone especially him. “What the- A VISION,” Willow said bursting with fear. Now this is the part where I tell you that thunder can’t come without lightning- words don’t come without actions. “What was it?” “ I-I can tell you only one thing they need me,” she said very ominously which made me cry on the inside. “What is the-“ “Don’t ask questions, or they will get you,” you see what I mean but now’s the really scary part.
The next day at gym, it was time to tell them- or at least one. By now I had figured out that the bad-side, king Shadow, had invited her, which is not good. Anyways I went to tell her and she started talking. “Where’s the Hex,” she asked me. Ok so I did tell them one secret, I had connections with monsters. “On… I can’t tell you.” “The darkness is spreading,” she suddenly said which atually scared me- only a little. “What?” “The darkness is spreading, I’m scared, the darkness is spreading, you could be the hex, the darkness is spreading, I could be the hex.” Honestly she could but let’s not get into that. “Do you believe in magic,” you know me asking pretty normal questions. “Yes,” she sounded possessed. Here’s the real scary part. She grabbed my arm, I yanked away and ran for Ashley.
The next day at gym again, I will tell them. Warning this paragraph may mentally break you. I walked over to Willow, she seemed normal. Ashley came to use and I got up. “I gotta tell y’all something,” my body was a war. One side wanted me to this, the other was not good with this. “What’s wrong,” Willow said worried. I’m warning you again but differently. This all is not true or false- you get to decide, I can’t tell you I’ve got a duty to uphold. This may melt your last brain cell though. “I’m… the queen of the good side,” yeah that was not much of a plot twist to some of you, that know me. “What the- WHAT?!?” I did break my bestie though, she’s definitely mortal, but Ashley looked less surprised but still surprised. “What?” Confusing humans- my specialty. Willows reaction was normal, but Ashley’s… kind of like Spira. “I’m a queen.” Then Tom walked over. If you don’t know who he is then you’re missing out. He’s litterly the cutest boy in all of history. “Hey,” my bestie said easily. Welp we’re not continuing this paragraph- ok fine but don’t laugh please. “Hewo,” I can’t describe the things I do. He walked away, which is a little rude but boys are like that.
Some nights I lay silently on the grass and listen to the trees argue. Their the only ones who understand me in this world. I don’t know if i can find the hero of imagination but I know that Ashley is special and that this is one the first chapter of our story. Remember to decide if you believe in magic and monsters, in this story. Once you decide you can’t go back. Just remember next time you hear sounds in your bedroom that’s us.
