POEM STARTER

It wasn’t yours to take, but nevertheless you ripped it from my grasp

Write an insta-poem using this as the opening line. An insta-poem uses short, direct lines that would suit a small screen.

Rope

It wasn’t yours to take, but neverless you ripped it from my grasp

I held on to it with my life

My innocence the last thing keeping me together

I held it like rope

Even though the rope was on fire

It was my rope

You took it from me

You were the one who ripped away the thing that made me, me

You took it with no shame

No guilt

My hands stopped burning

But I lost everything
