i am still

my body not consumed by touch

i am cold

frozen in time my eyelids glazed

i am forgiven

for my mind rests at ease in the stillness

i am awakened

for i know now how it feels to feel nothing at all

i am safer than most

in my cold body i can guard my heart

i am reaching

for the light that seeps through the trees

i am creation

meant to survive the treachery of the sea

i am warmer now

nerves stretch and pull through my skin

i am defrosting

each breath fracturing apart of my casing

i am almost there

i am awake
