I don’t see why my shadow left

I thought shadows remain with you till the end

I thought we were friends

I thought my shadow was a part of me

But a part of me can’t just walk away

I don’t see why I’m sad

It’s just a shadow after all

Just the absence of light

Sad people don’t cry over a shadow

But I still miss it

I don’t see why my shadow decided to leave

I gave it everything I could

I gave it my love, my gentleness

Still

It’s gone

What am I without a shadow?

Does light pass right through me?

Am I even human anymore?

I guess not

I hope my shadows doing okay
