If Only

“If only”

Those are two dangerous words, they almost have a sense of desperation around them. Wishing for things to be different, not happy with how it is right now. Uncontentment is a different feeling around those two words. The desire that things would have taken a different term. I think there is nothing wrong with wanting to improve things, but it’s also important to accept where you are right now. Things just went the way they did and you can’t change the past. If you can change the situation and make whatever came after “if only” happen, then by all means give it a try. Just don’t let those two words give a negative judgment to two way more important words, “what is”.
