POEM STARTER
Submitted by Karman
Write a poem about the protagonist getting something off of their chest.
Confession
Like a sinking ship, I feel its grip.
Around my throat, like a tightening coat.
It builds pressure, so I write this letter.
It weighs on my conscience, you shall see that I am monstrous.
I know it’s just for me, my only chance to be free.
That I tell you my troubling curse, so I won’t wind up in a hearse.
It won’t offer you any comfort, to find out I am the culprit.
But I pray it clears my soul, and all the lives I stole.
