Eyes Wide Open
For a moment I thought I was asleep
I look to the right of me and I see an older women staring into the deep that’s in front of her. She had just ordered some sea salt peanuts.
“What should I do”?
As I reach for her hand that is clinched to the chair, I hear more screams coming from behind me
“I just wanted to visit my aunt sally”
she expressed
Her chair begins to move
I keep still
“Oh, please” she moans
Crack’
Her chair tips at the edge and falls down into the deep where there is smoke and darkness
I begin to pray as I feel my own seat will not hold me for much longer
I should have just stayed asleep I thought
It would have been much faster wait,
I feel someone behind me, oh yes is someone going to save me
“Hold tight”I heard
I try to turn to look but the pain of my neck wouldn’t allow it
I thought what would I do if I got outta here
I close my eyes and before you knew it I was free falling, looking down at my end with my eyes wide open.
