Write a series of five Haikus that span five years of time following an important event.

Try to show how emotions or opinions change over time with each poem.

A Bland Consistency

I blink my eyes once

The world shifts underneath me

New lives, once again

Another lifetime

A new leaf, everyone

Beautiful, is it?

The blossoms still bloom

Pinks and reds and whites alike

My room is the same

I’m lost in the times

Watching the world pass me by

One life at a time

Different stories

But mine, the same forever

What is this torture

I like the poignance of this. I don't know if you meant to leave the question mark out at the end of "What is this torture," but it works. The lack of punctuation opens the phrase to many different meanings and sentiments.
