POEM STARTER
In a poem, write about a love triangle between three people.
Will you write from each person's perspective with unique voices, or omnisciently tell the whole story?
Not meant to be
I look at you,
You look at her,
She looks at me,
Happy we’ll be,
For love is free…
You say that love is like a wave
meant to be free,
and I agree,
Do you love her?
Do you love me?
She’s just a friend, was just a fling
and love is free
do you agree?
Don’t be so blue,
I still love you.
You’re kneeling with a ring or two,
“Darlings, say you’ll accept to be,
in a relationship with me,
open relationship, agree?”
I look at her,
She looks at me,
Then, tenderly,
She’s choosing me
Instead of you.
“Hey, that’s not fair, we were
a happy throuple - you both, me,
and love was free!”
We’re walking closely, hand in hand,
I’m looking down all this time while
She whispers in my ear “goodbye”
I wave and smile.
Well, love is free,
And I agree!
But, for myself,
Triangles are
Not meant to be!
