Hello and welcome back, everyone, to the If You Could Talk podcast. I’m your host, Uni, and today, I’m thrilled to welcome our most unusual and incredible guests—Fire, Water, Air, and Earth. Thank you all for being here. Please take a moment to introduce yourselves.

Water:

Hello, I’m—

Fire:

Unusual? If you ask me, the only unusual thing here is your podcast.

Air:

Fire! You can’t just interrupt like that! I’m so sorry, Uni—he can be a hothead sometimes.

Uni:

It’s quite alright. I expected as much.

Fire:

What are you trying to say, old man?

Water:

Fire, you always do this. Why can’t you control yourself? No wonder everyone thinks you’re unpredictable and dangerous.

Fire:

Unpredictable and dangerous? You call keeping cities warm and lighting the way for the lost unpredictable? And when you freeze them over, who do you think keeps them alive? You’re the one who’s unpredictable.

Water:

Unpredictable?! They cry out to me when those same cities burn—because of you. Lives are lost, memories destroyed. I restore them. I help keep them alive.

Earth:

Enough, already. You’re both so dramatic. You don’t see that you’re both unpredictable—and both dangerous.

Cities burn, and cities freeze, because of you. I’ve seen it—up close and clear. I’m the one who carries your ruins and rebuilds them. I’m the one who holds them steady, to keep you from doing more harm.

Air:

That’s not fair, Earth. I think we all could learn from each other. You’ve caused as much harm as good, too.

We’re all unpredictable. We’re all dangerous.

But that’s not all we are.

You burn—and you warm.

You restore—and you drown.

You build—and you break.

And I flow—and I storm.

We were meant to balance each other.

Because it’s not about us—it’s about the world that needs us.

Uni:

That’s why I’ve brought you here.

To share in each other’s strengths… and each other’s weaknesses.

Because you’re much stronger together than apart.

If you could speak… one more time… what would you say?

Water:

I need to learn how to control.

Fire:

I guess I need to learn how to stay calm.

Earth:

I must learn how to let go.

Air:

And I…

I must find a way to be still.
