Unrequited Love
I saw his face turn blue as I stepped toward him, he stepped back. I smiled. He scrunched up his nose.
“I love you.” I whispered so only he could hear me.
He looked scared, terrified almost to see me confessing in front of him. He stepped back into a wall, his hands roaming it the way they used to roam me. I reached my hand toward his, reaching for comfort. He tugged his away. “J-just leave me alone, Charlotte. This is getting really creepy now.”
I’d followed him home last night, and the night before, planning my strike. “You love me, Thomas, I know you do.”
“Not anymore, I have a wife, kids. Just leave us alone, please.”
My heart dropped. If he wasn’t going to love me, he wasn’t going to love anyone. I stabbed the knife in my hand into his chest. And he collapsed. A world of red covered my vision joined by screams and police sirens. It was done.
