An Average Day

I duck my head a split second before a box is thrown at me. It hits the side of the school with a thud and falls to the floor. I look at my classmate Violet, wide eyed. I expected to get a reaction out of her but I didn’t expect it to be this big.

“Why Sabrina? Just why? Every time we try to do something normal you just come on and-“ she starts.

“Violet chill. I thought it was pretty cool.” Says Taylor, looking down at us from the tree.

“Taylor you are not in this conversation!” Violet hisses. Taylor shrugs with a grin. Violet turns to me with an evil little smile. “Anyways Rina…” she says sweetly. I hold in my laughter.

“I just thought it would be fun.” I say, the amusement clear in my voice. Taylor jumps from the tree and walks over.

“What’s in this box anyways?” She asks curiously.

“That’s- wait don’t open it!” Violet yells. Taylor opens it and closes it in a split second.

“Is this for- it this for Ivan?” She asks in a hushed voice. Violet has been crushing hard on Ivan for the past few months. I gape at Violet, and then at the box.

“Were you planning on confessing??” I ask, greatly suprised.

“N-no! It’s just a- give it back Taylor you-“ Violet yells. She looks ready to kill Taylor when she begins sprinting off, looking at the contents of the box. I laugh, watching Violet hunting Taylor down. Thankfully, Taylor is the fastest girl I know. If she wasn’t then she’d be dead soon, I can see the murder in Violets eyes from a mile away. I begin to chase after them, not wanting to miss out on anything interesting. As I turn a corner, I see Taylor getting jumped by Violet. I do not know how she caught up to her but Taylor is screwed.

“Rina! Help me!” She yells comically loud. I double down in laughter as Violet violently shakes Taylor as Taylor screams playfully.

But after all, this is just an average day.
