Held
Liquid crystal drops upon her breast,
Falling from faint, sea-blue eyes
That have memorized the truth, horror and lies.
Glistening pale skin, warm from embrace;
His head heavy, burden’d black
From long ago past; cruel, nightly attacks.
Soothing coos to the sobs in the night,
Cries keep coming, soft and strong.
The bruises now gone; must mem’ries last so long?
